Discontinue use of the rack should the wood begin splitting.
Wood is an inherently variable material, and there is always the possibility that a wood rack
can split, allowing skis or snowboards to fall and cause damage as stated earlier.
Should you notice your rack splitting, immediately remove your gear to
prevent failure of the rack. Once this is done, you are welcome to contact Good Racks
for information regarding a replacement.
Discontinue use of the rack should it loosen in the wall.
The rack can easily tear out of the wall and fall as stated earlier. We recommend re-mounting the
rack an inch higher on the wall, and confirming that this fixes the problem.
Our racks are not intended for busy areas
such as hallways and other places people frequently walk through. While our racks do firmly hold your gear,
any collision with the rack, board or skis can cause the rack to break or tear out of the wall
and the board or skis to fall.
Since most snow gear has sharpened edges, such a fall could cause serious damage to anything
in the area including flooring, walls, toys, furniture, and most importantly people
and animals.
Our racks are not intended for areas frequented by small children.
Our racks are designed for easy removal of boards and skis.
This is just as true for young children, which can lead to a board or skis falling when removed by young children
which can cut and injure the child and anyone or anything in the area. Please be careful with this.
Brake ties can gradually weaken brake performance over time.
Specifically, since they compress the spring further than normal, the springs weaken faster than normal.
This is inherent in the use of the brake ties.
Thankfully, many ski brake manufacturers use brake ties when they box and ship their own brakes.
For this reason most brakes are designed to account for brake ties and can handle the stresses inherent in their use.
Still though, it is important to check the proper function of your ski brakes each time you use your skis and discontinue use should they become too weak to properly stop your skis if they come loose.
Weak brakes can lead to runaway skis which can get lost, injure people and damage property.
The user assumes this risk when using our product, and can always limit use to display only skis or skis without brakes/bindings.
Finally, drywall anchors leave small holes in your wall and mounting
and removing your gear can scrape the wall on which your rack is mounted.
Our racks are designed to reduce these issues, however they are still inherent in the racks' use.
